Swing’s Coffee Roasters is opening a new location in Washington D.C. and looking for talented individuals to join our team! As a historic company in D.C. it’s fitting that Swing’s Coffee Roasters moves into the same block as The Old Ebbitt Grill and The Hamilton (640 14th St. NW). This new location, opening in January, occurs in the 100th year of operation for Swing’s Coffee Roasters and celebrates the long standing commitment to sourcing and roasting high quality coffee in this region.
At Swing’s Coffee, we pursue a progressive purchasing model for green coffee. It gives more visibility in the supply chain, allows us to forge relationships with producers, affect social and environmental change, and reward quality. A majority of our coffee suppliers fall under our Homegrown Coffee Initiative, which focuses on sustainability, long-term relationships, and accountability through the supply chain.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We’re looking for customer service oriented individuals! At Swing’s we recognize that the barista is the last link in the supply chain, and one of the most important. As we expand our retail presence in the D.C. region, there is ample opportunity for growth within the company. Providing hands on education about the coffee supply chain and beverage preparation from our Director of Coffee and Barista Trainer, Swing’s Coffee Roaster’s promotes an in depth study of the coffee industry.
Our baristas are working on top of the line equipment, including the La Marzocco GB5 and Poursteady, to produce high quality coffee beverages. While providing legendary customer service, each individual is held responsible for operating point of sale systems. The goal is to maintain a clean workplace, while working efficiently in a fast paced environment.
